Revenue generated from the sale of Christmas on the Coast ornaments allows Goodwill Easterseals to provide services in our community that encourage, educate and employ individuals with disabilities and others in need, helping to build stronger families and communities. Programs include early care and education for children of all abilities, family support and respite, adult education and GED services, job search assistance for individuals with disabilities and free income tax preparation services for low-income households.

Belligrath Gardens and Home ornamentThis year’s ornament for the City of Mobile is Bellingrath Gardens and Home, the 65-acre public garden and historic home of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, located on Fowl River in Theodore. Walter Bellingrath was one of the first Coca-Cola bottlers in the Southeast, and with his wealth built the estate garden and home. He and his wife, Bessie, lived in the home which has since been converted into a museum and was opened to the public in 1932.  Once more, “B” Sumrall, known for her paintings of Mobile and Baldwin County landmarks, designed the ornament’s artwork.

Fort Pickens ornamentThe 17th-Annual Christmas on the Coast ornament for the city of Pensacola is Fort Pickens, once again designed by Pensacola artist, Mitzi Holt. Fort Pickens is a pentagonal historic United States military fort on Santa Rosa Island in the Pensacola, Florida, area. Named after American Revolutionary War hero Andrew Pickens, the fort was completed in 1834 and remained in use until 1947. Fort Pickens is included within the Gulf Islands National Seashore, and as such, is administered by the National Park Service.
