A dedication ceremony to commemorate the unveiling of Judge McMaken Street took place this morning at Goodwill Easterseals of the Gulf Coast. In the presence of Mayor Stimpson, Councilman Fred Richardson, board members, dignitaries, and friends, Goodwill Easterseals recognized Honorable Michael E. McMaken as a significant part of the prosperity and success of our organization. The designation honors Judge McMaken as an important and dedicated supporter of Goodwill Easterseals, where he spent 25 years on the Board of Directors, including a year as Chairman of the Board.
Mike’s dedication to helping those with special needs started within his own family. His daughter, Michelle, who has Down syndrome, has participated with Goodwill Easterseals’ programs since she was a child. Mike’s legacy at GES includes Kaleidoscope, a day program for adults with disabilities, and a cheerleading team for special-needs children, both of which his daughter, now age 24, is still a member.
