NEED TO FILE A TAX RETURN? Beginning January 23, through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, low to moderate income families are able to file a Federal and State return for free with assistance from a volunteer, IRS-certified and trained tax-preparer. This program also provides financial education by explaining the complexities of tax laws and ways that taxpayers can maximize refunds and avoid paying a balance due.
